Welcome to Owls Class
Owls Class (Year 5 and Year 6) is taught by Mrs Grainger. The class is supported by Mrs Freeman.
We have the original school classroom with lots of resources which children can access independently to support their learning.
In Year 5, children learn to become more independent and take more responsibility for their learning. Children in Year 6 are then able to build on these important skills and embed their understanding of key concepts in readiness for their transition to secondary school. In May, children in Year 6 take their Key Stage Two SATs.
Parents, log in to Class Dojo for all our latest class news and updates. If you are looking for home learning resources, please go to the Owls home learning page of our website.
Because we have 2 year groups in each class, we use a 2-year rolling programme of study which means that, over the course of their two years in Owls Class, children will cover all areas of the Year 5 and Year 6 National Curriculum. here is a copy of our 2-year rolling programme, which has recently been redeveloped in order to make better links between subjects and ensure a broad and balanced curriculum. There are still some areas being worked on, so this document is subject to change.
Here is our timetable for the academic year 2022-23: Owls Class Timetable. PE lessons take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week, so please bring your PE kit to school for these days.
Remember to bring the following items to school each day:
- water bottle
- reading book
- coat or waterproof jacket if necessary
